Classified Marketing: A New Sheriff In Town, Ebay Classifieds

Craigslist Alternative

Craigslist Alternative

Look out Craigslist, there is a new sheriff in town! eBay Classified, has taken the FREE classifieds site to a new level, with a different breed of customer and a much easier consumer friendly site.

With the powerhouse.. eBay name, the site has grown almost to the level of Craigslist, with an easier approach, and faster search capabilities.

We now understand that Craigslist is more than a mere fad the site has become a habitual place where you can buy, rent, or apply for almost anything since its 1995 inception as a emailing list distributed among friends in San Francisco — Used the world over, but yet, the site still appears more than outdated when it comes to visual design and search functionality.

Craigslist gets credit for being the All Knowing Super Power for scoring a free sofa and finding an available apartment, there is another free site that is doing an equally fine job with with a more attractive interface and with less spam postings.  eBay Classifieds may not offer the sheer number of listings or familiarity of the infamous CL, but they do provide a new audience, different type of shopper and many options not offered elsewhere, whether you’re merely looking for a short-term loan, a horse, a truck, or an apartment, this site is faster, cleaner and is growing by leaps and bounds. sticknfindTaken From TEch Crunch, on Sunday January 13, 2013

Written by: Anthony Ha

Here’s a novel way to keep track of your wallet, your cat, or, yes, your keys.

Jimmy Buchheim stopped by the the TechCrunch booth at the Consumer Electronics Show to demo StickNFind, a bluetooth sticker technology that you can use to track almost anything. Once you’ve attached the sticker to an object of your choice, you can track it down again using the StickNFind iOS and Android apps, which tell you whether you’re getting farther from or closer to the object in question — basically, it’s the tech version of that that hotter/colder game.

Qr Code Advertising – The next BIG Thing!

qr_code_autoshopper.comThe age of the Used Car Dealer is rapidly changing and new technology is replacing some of the older methods of getting a customer in the store to buy a car.  Back in the old days, we used to have salesman standing on points in the used car lot, now we have window stickers that will interact with a potential customer’s cell phone, to give them more information than a salesman would or even could have.  With the rapid growth of smart phones the faces of the dealership have become computer enabled web pages, chat sessions and codes that will link you and your customer together.

Many cutting edge dealers use QR Codes, (or Quick Response Code) this is very similar to barcodes used by retailers, the key difference is that the amount of data they can hold or share. Qr codes can hold more information, which makes it practical for use by car dealerships. When the QR code is scanned by your iPhone or Android device, it can link to digital content on the web, and connect the mobile device to a web browser.  Any of these desired functions are easily achieved by properly creating the appropriate QR code for the target consumer. This will connect auto shoppers with your dealership as well as multimedia content of your choice.

Craigslist Mania

Craigslist1What is Craigslist? Why Should I put My Inventory on it?

Craigslist is to the internet what the classified ads used to be to newspapers, it is a classified ad placement service where people can place and browse through classified ads on the internet.

And it is all FREE (in most states)

According to the current internet rankings at Alexa, Craigslist is responsible for getting an amazing twenty billion page views each month. That is good enough to crack the top 25 worldwide and the top ten in the United States. Its only source of income comes from people placing ads for jobs for money, with amounts from $10 to $75 depending on which Craigslist site is going to be getting the ad. Even with that source of income however, Craigslist still makes in the range of tens to hundreds of millions of dollars in a single calendar year.

A new Perspective: Why Do Car Dealers Need Twitter?

Car Dealers need Twitter!

Start Tweetin’ Car peeps!

Online marketing is essential to dealerships today. With so many customers starting the search for their next vehicle online, a consistent stream of Internet leads can be as important as drop-in visits to the showroom floor. Twitter is valuable because it provides a way to engage with your online community in a style suited to the busy environment of the dealership. It is probably too much to expect for the dealer principal or sales manager to sit down and write a 500 word blog post every day. Putting up a quick tweet with useful information for potential customers is a more realistic goal.

When Twitter, the microblogging site that lets you share messages of 140 characters or less, launched in 2006, a lot of people weren’t sure what to make of it. And while it’s true that some tweets still consist of what someone’s cat is doing, Twitter has evolved into a valuable business tool. Depending on how you use it, it can do everything from driving traffic to your company website to improving your customer service.

Where do I Start with Mobile Phone Optimization?

mobileMobile marketing is being tossed around frequently in marketing circles, often with many different intended meanings. While mobile marketing can mean many things, there is one primary message being conveyed for marketers looking to take advantage of mobile: optimize for mobile devices.
While developing a mobile application relative to your  Dealership is another option, most businesses are still just ramping up their internet marketing efforts and do not have enough content to support a mobile application. Additionally, many marketers would be better off optimizing their SEO, email, lead nurturing, and social media campaigns for maximum lead generation before taking on yet another major project such as a mobile application.
For those internet marketers just getting started with mobile, the important thing to focus on is making sure your website is easy to view and navigate when accessed on mobile devices.
